The longest cruise in the world. Viking Sun will try to beat the record of 245 days at sea

The longest cruise of all time will circle the world, taking visitors to some of the world's most legendary cities, landmarks and distant destinations, before returning to London in May 2020.

Last weekend, Viking Sun passengers boarded the new Ultimate World Cruise itinerary, a 245-day journey spanning six continents, 51 countries and 111 ports.

Departing from London, of the 930 travellers (maximum cruise capacity), 54 take part in the world's longest cruise.

The longest cruise of all time will circle the world, taking visitors to some of the world's most legendary cities, landmarks and distant destinations, before returning to London in May 2020.

At the start of this journey, Viking will attempt to beat GUINNESS WORLD RECORD as the "largest continuous passenger cruise", which will then be confirmed by a Guiness officer.

Viking's Ultimate World Cruise offers an eight-month trip, allowing travellers to explore Scandinavia, the Caribbean and destinations in South America before visiting the remote tropical islands of the South Pacific. Viking Sun will continue its journey along the coast of Australia and through Asia before returning to the Mediterranean and Europe.

Ultimate World Cruise guests enjoy an excursion included in each port of call, free and unlimited Wi-Fi, business class airline ticket, stays in 23 cities, among other offers.

Prices for boarding the trip ranged from €74,000 to €215,000.
