The initiative is from PT, FCT and INCoDe. 2030, in partnership with MUDA. The goal is to raise awareness and thus support the promotion and development of digital inclusion among citizens with less ease of interaction with the Internet.

The national programme includes a mobile stand and a set of activities, such as training sessions for the basic use of the Internet, a knowledge wheel and a digital skills questionnaire.

At the same time, the initiative foresees the development of a national network of capacity building centres for digital inclusion through local partnerships with schools, parish councils and public social solidarity institutions.

In a first phase, the initiative is associated with the 81st Tour of Portugal by bicycle, covering 11 locations that integrate the various stages of the race, between 31 July and 11 August. After participating in the Tour de Portugal, the #EuSouDigital programme covers ten other locations in the country, between 12 August and 8 September,

In a statement, the chairman of the board of directors of PT highlights the need to combat digital exclusion in Portugal, especially among older people. "With this programme we intend to get where Internet training usually does not go", explains Luisa Gueifão.

"Taking advantage of an event as relevant and of national impact as the Volta, we cover the coast and interior, younger and older, in an action that aims to show how digital tools contribute to social inclusion", she concludes.
