Company opens one more route to Morocco and flies to a total of 85 destinations in 35 countries

As of today, TAP adds to its network one more destination in Morocco. The city of Fez is part of one of the most exotic and attractive areas of Morocco, taking advantage of the proximity to touristic Meknés. It is now the fourth Moroccan city served by the company.

As of 30th October, TAP will offer six weekly flights to this destination during the winter IATA and to operate daily flights in the summer of 2018.

This way, Fez joins the new destinations for which the company began operating recently – Toronto, Stuttgart, Cologne, Gran Canaria, Alicante, Bucharest, Budapest, Abidjan, Lomé – and the London City (Airport), whose start-up has a date scheduled for October 29th of this year.

Direct connections from Lisbon to Fez will be operated in an ATR-72, with a capacity of 70 passengers, from Monday to Saturday, departing from Lisbon at 14:00 and returning from Faz at 16:35 passing to daily flights in the IATA summer of 2018.

In 2016, TAP transported to Morocco - Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier - approximately 110 000 passengers having between January and June of this year registered a growth of more than 200% in all Moroccan routes. Adding Fez to the map of destinations, TAP forecasts a 20% increase in the capacity to Morocco.

Taking advantage of the enormous advantages of the Lisbon hub, which allows links to near 70 destinations in Europe and the Americas, the TAP passengers from the Moroccan destinations favor currently links to Porto, Paris, Barcelona and London. On the other hand, TAP passengers to the Moroccan cities served by the company have mostly originated in Europe, notably Porto, Paris, Brussels, Hamburg, Zurich, Berlin, Barcelona and London.

If the final destination is not Lisbon or Porto, passengers can also take advantage of the Portugal Stopover program, at departure or on the return, and making a stop in Portugal - which can now be up to five nights – at no additional cost added to the rate. Since its beginning, in the summer of 2016, and until the end of July of this year, nearly 70000 passengers had already taken advantage of this opportunity offered by the company, and it is expected that these destinations to reinforce these numbers.

The inclusion of Fez in TAP's Network reinforces its strategic positioning on the African continent, which remains a strong company bet. With the opening of flights to Fez, TAP passes to serve 17 destinations in 11 African countries, four of which in Morocco. In total, TAP is part of a global network of 85 destinations in 35 countries.
