Zipping For 80 Years

Established in 1936 in New York City, IDEAL Fastener Corporation is the second largest zipper manufacturer in the world with factories and offices in over 20 countries worldwide. IDEAL manufactures zippers for numerous applications such as apparel, automotive seating, furniture, home furnishings, luggage/backpacks, military, uniforms, work-wear, and specialty. Their clients are virtually every known apparel brand/retailer in the USA and Europe, the world's premiere luggage manufacturers, NASA, the US Armed Forces, and numerous Fortune 500 and international manufacturers across a range of industries.

Throughout their nearly 70 year history they have only had one goal: to make IDEAL Fastener Corporation synonymous with the highest level of quality, service and innovation.

Service

Service is what truly sets IDEAL apart from the competition. Their worldwide network of owned and operated and joint venture factories, global marketing & liaison offices, as well as distribution facilities means that customers get consistent quality worldwide and receive rapid response on orders of both basic and specialty zippers.

At IDEAL, "precision" is the watchword. Each zipper element is manufactured to within .001" tolerance and every step in the manufacture of IDEAL® zippers and components is subject to the most rigorous controls and inspection – over 47 distinct control points are checked and double checked before an IDEAL® zipper is shipped from one of the factories.

At IDEAL they try to be as independent of outside resources as possible. To that end, maintaining the own staff of design engineers, their own drafting room, machine tool & mold shop, weaving factory, dye house, plating factory, die casting and stamping factory, and precision testing lab, is what allows them to be so.

By controlling every step in manufacturing, they ensure the consistent manufacture of the highest quality zippers in the world

Customization & New Development

The expertise in customization is unmatched—from custom color matching, to unique sliders and pulls, IDEAL can create nearly any zipper that customers need. Not only can they design and build whatever is needed, they do it quickly – the standard development time for new molds and special custom tapes is only 3-4 weeks. Custom lab dips are even shorter at 7-10 days. IDEAL offers a huge variety of finishes including nickel-free and Nisnek™, non-ferrous finishes. No idea is too difficult for the team of innovative engineers—if you need it they can build it.
