In the 21st century and considering all scientific and technological advance occurring almost at a daily rhythm, becomes vital a regular update of knowledge, procedure and techniques involved in the fundamental function of playing professionally and accurately the tasks to fulfil.


It is taken for granted nowadays, for any modern businessman that, the constant updating of knowledge on the part of the human resources of their organizations, leads to effective and consolidated profits.

Furthermore, the constant rising of new materials and machinery, along with new technologies demand from the modern businessmen and the organizations they lead, an attentive and active presence on the national and international board of players.

These are the main reasons why continuous and seasonal formation play a special and central role in the company's performance.

It is within this competitive concept that, in 1993, Competir – Formation and Services, S.A. is born, a company dedicated to the formation area from and for professionals. With the main objective of developing the human capital and add value to the organizations, the company works over the motto "form well to compete better".

The company has its head office in Lisbon, Portugal and provides Consulting Services in the fields of Management, Accountability, Medical Psychology, Law, Tax and Auditing, Marketing, Human Resources, Informatics and Professional Formation, Preparation of the Application Projects for Community Funds and Finance and Economical Feasibility Studies, Planning and Developing Promotion Investment Actions on the Economic Cooperation area, always keeping a special focus on the Portuguese Official Language African Countries.

Adding also the development of actions in the Professional Formation areas, Hygiene and Safety at Work, Occupational Healthcare, Food Hygiene and Safety, Consulting, Creating Emergency and Evacuation Planning, Noise Measurement, Lighting, Thermal Environment, Inner Air Quality and Ergonomic Studies.

Almost ten years after the foundation, already in 2012, the company has become the formation organization working one most areas (53 formation areas, split through 957 different courses) certified by the Employment and Work Relationship General Office, the state division from Ministry of Work, Solidarity and Social Security of the Portuguese Republic.

The main frame of Competir is inserted into the Community Board for 2014-2020 with the main task of providing continuity to the work it has been developing in the field of Professional Formation targeting employed and unemployed actives, disadvantaged public and qualifying young ones and adults.

The individual and collective organizations which use these formation services guarantee right from the start their double certificate, which correspond to a school and professional qualifying.

In order to have an idea of Competir importance and activity, only in 2016, one can refer the company has lead more than 1,1 million hours in formation, to almost 20,000 students, along in 188 different projects within 242 cities.

The company deployment in all the Portuguese territory covers all geographic areas of the country, complying centres in Lisbon (head office), Porto, Coimbra, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Torres Novas, Entroncamento, Torres Vedras, Évora, Beja, Faro, Funchal (Madeira) and Ponta Delgada (Azores). In addition to these centres, the company also has representative offices in Poland (COMPETIR POLSKA Sp z.o.o), Romania (S. C. TOP TRAINING FORMARE SI SREVICII SRL), Hungary (COMPETIR HUNGARY Kft) and Cape Verde (COMPETIR Cabo Verde – Formação e Serviços, Lda.
