The company is a leading global supplier of technology-based performance materials, including glass-based coatings, pigments and colours, and polishing materials.


Ferro is almost everywhere you look, from your smart phone to your car or your coffee cup. Their coatings or colours provide strength, beauty, protection and/or other important functional characteristics to products everyone enjoys and depends upon every day.

Ferro products are sold into the building and construction, automotive, appliances, electronics, household furnishings, and industrial products markets. The Company has approximately 4,000 employees globally, 33 manufacturing sites around the world, and a broad customer base in more than 100 countries.

Ferro is focusing on the growth of its core Performance Materials businesses, aggressively pursuing growth through acquisition of businesses that add to their technology capabilities in glass-based coatings and colour solutions, leading market positions and geographic footprint in emerging markets. The company is also focused on organic growth through new product development and expansion of sales into geographies with attractive growth profiles.

Performance Coatings
This segment comprises two distinct but related market applications: tile and porcelain enamel. Ferro's tile products include specialty glazes, digital inks and digital glaze coatings for use in a variety of ceramic tile applications. Porcelain enamel is a glass-based coating, and Ferro's porcelain enamel products are used for major appliances, hot water tanks, cookware, and architectural applications.

Performance Colours, and Glass
Ferro's products in this segment include colour coatings and enamels for the global glass industry, which includes automotive glass, flat glass, container glass, and a range of industrial product applications.

Pigments, Powders, and Oxides
This segment provides pigments for paint, plastics, ceramics, and concrete applications, precious metal powders for conductive pastes, and inks for a wide range of electronic applications, and also polishing materials for ophthalmic lenses, auto finishes and display panels.
