What is Crushed Stone

It is all material that comes from the mechanical fragmentation of rock. Crushed stone grades are categorized by the size of the stone after it has been crushed. The size of the stone determines what application it will be best used for. The crushing of the stone has an important role, since it will determine the compactness of the aggregate, resulting in a higher or lower percentage of voids. This value will influence in the structure of the pavement: these voids will result in less usage of binding agent (cement and bitumen), in lower permeability and a higher interlocking of the fragments of the ballast. These factors will also be influenced by the shape of the fragments and the rugosity of the surface.

Embu S.A. features a portfolio with over 30 products and derivates of crushed stone, offering and guaranteeing quality aggregates, adequate to your project.
