SKIN TREATMENT HAS NEVER BEEN SO... DELICIOUS
A sweet temptation that provokes sensations that even its greatest admirers can´t explain. It is a reason for tourist attraction in countries such as Switzerland, Belgium, France, among others. There are even those who become a Chocolate Taster professionally. Its rejuvenating effect is, however, a great surprise.
It won the Women's Health Magazine's Beauty Challenger Awards, in Paris, it was one of the special guests at the Dermatology & Laser Exhibition & Conference, last March in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and it was present at the Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine Congress, in Monaco, last April - we are talking about Esthechoc, the most sought-after chocolate of the moment.
With just one bar of chocolate a day, which weighs 7.5 grams and has 38 calories, you can lose up to 20 years of age. This Esthechoc-based youth recipe took ten years to develop, but is now among the 50 most innovative and well-crafted beauty products, chosen by a panel of experts which involved dermatologists, scientists and cosmetics.
Developed by a group of researchers from the University of Cambridge, England, led by Dr. Ivan Petyaev, physician, author of scientific publications, researcher in methods of diagnosis, analysis, prevention and treatment of various diseases, Esthechoc is the first nutri-cosmetic of the world with a strong and scientifically proven impact on the metabolism and prevention of skin aging.
To pursue its breakthroughs in innovative health products, Dr. Petyaev left the University and established a company, the Lycotec Limited. However, its projects continued to be supported by the University of Cambridge, the Papworth and Addenbrooke Hospitals, the British Heart Foundation, the Department of Trade and Industry and the Eurostars Eurica Project.
In statements to the English newspaper "The Telegraph," Petyaev said that «throughout the investigation, we noticed that the inflammation in the skin was disappearing and that the tissues benefit from it». Tests were conducted over the past three years in a sample of 200-300 volunteers, aged 50-60 years old, who consumed one serving of chocolate per day, during four weeks. The results showed that the skin´s physiology of these patients began to appear between 20 and 30 years. In addition, the researchers noticed improvements in blood circulation and fewer inflammations.
Results are due, according with the same source, to the number of antioxidants present in chocolate that inhibit the formation of wrinkles. Chocolate combines highly potent active substances, such as astaxanthin (the most powerful antioxidant known scientifically), and polyphenolic cacao epicatechins. Then, the micellar technology used during the production of Esthechoc makes these assets bioavailable. «We use the same antioxidants that allow fish and flamingos to maintain colour», Petyaev explained.
Although small, one piece contains the same amount of flavanoids as 100 grams of common bitter chocolate and astaxanthin present in 300 grams of salmon - both substances aid in the circulation of blood in the skin, preventing the formation of wrinkles and age marks.
It seems, the secret lies in combining the natural antioxidant elements of cocoa with algae extract, which «nourish the skin inside, protecting it from aggressive agents and keeping it brighter, firmer and healthier», Dr. Petyaev concludes.
The surprising findings were presented at the "Global Food Summit" in London, England, and have left consumers very happy, because beyond the benefits to the skin, Esthechoc isn´t fattening.
If it works, just by experimenting. A box has chocolates for the first three weeks of treatment. It is known that, for now, the product will be available in the United Kingdom, it is not known for sure where, that is, whether it will be sold in candy stores, pharmacies or supermarkets.
