ROYOLE FLEXIBLE SCREENS

Often it is the case, when technological advances happen, in some interesting way, but then a lot of time is spent in the prototype phase. The details are often tricky, but Royole has shown some flexible screens that are ready for use, and there are some great ideas.

In what is being hailed as an "a historic moment ", the flexible screen company Royole Corporation has opened a factory in Shenzhen, spanning 1.1 million square meters and capable of mass-producing fully flexible displays. With the ability to produce more than 50 million flexible screen units per year, the Quasi-G6 mass production Campus will provide consumer electronics, transportation, smart homes, sports, fashion, offices, education and Robotics.

With its first name, like the world's thinnest color flexible AMOLED screen, Royole expects its increased production to enable a range of state-of-the-art electronic products. The factory cost US $1.7 billion (about 1.5 billion euros) and can produce flat, curved and fully flexible displays.

Royole had a concept for a flexible smartphone and the company is still struggling with the details of flexible construction. In the future, the new screens can be everywhere, for example, in a hat. Royole showed this concept mainly with a hat, which is the highlight of the brand. A flexible Full-HD display that shows vivid and bright colors, even in heavily illuminated display locations. Royole can produce these displays in its own factory – mass production has already begun, and the company says it is capable of producing up to 50 million units per year.

Perhaps even more useful than the screen on the hat, is the idea of putting a flexible screen in a handbag or suitcase. This idea was also recently unveiled by the brand. Of course, this technology is suitable for all types of objects. Integrated into clothing, these screens can be used for media information or advertising. The displays could, therefore, be installed on any uneven surface in the future. The possibilities are almost limitless.

The Royole flexible screens use the AMOLED technology, which has the advantage of being thin, lightweight, foldable, portable, unbreakable, high contrast and with low power consumption. The display technology is usually found in smartwatches, mobile devices, laptops and televisions. Samsung's scrollable displays are based on AMOLED technology as well.

Royole expects flexible AMOLED technology to dominate the next generation of monitors. The company has already created the world's first flexible 3d Mobile     cinema (2015), the world's first curved instrument panel, based on flexible electronics (2016) and the first intelligent writing block, Rowrite, based on flexible sensors (2017).

In addition to displays, Royole has also developed sensors that allow virtually any surface to be transformed to be touch-sensitive. With the Rowrite trackpad, the manufacturer shows you what you can do. This is a digital clipboard in which you can hold classic paper. With the pen you can draw on paper and Rowrite transfers it directly to an IPAD or Android tablet. Later, Macs and Windows PCs will also be supported. Rowrite recognizes 2,048 levels of pressure, which is essential for precise drawing.

Rowrite will be launched across Europe before the end of the year. In Britain and the United States, it is now available via Amazon and costs £119 pounds and $119 dollars respectively.
