In order to provide the best printing solutions to the customers, Gestetner is always looking to grow their expertise and knowledge. The company was founded by the Hungarian inventor and visionary David Gestetner, who moved to London, United Kingdom. Here, in 1879 he registered his first copying patent, and later, in 1881, he invented a revolutionary copying system called Cyclostyle. In the same year, he founded the Gestetner Cyclograph Company, which produced duplicating machines, stencils, styli, ink rollers and other products.

Since its foundation until 1970, the company employed several thousand people, only in London, but in the mid-1970s, Gestetner's inventions and devices gained such fame that an international chain of branches was established, in order to meet with the demand, and make the products available abroad.

In 1995, the Ricoh Group became owner of Gestetner. Nowadays based in the Netherlands, Ricoh offers a full range of solutions, services and products through its four brands: Ricoh, Nashuatec, Gestetner and Rex Rotary.

Each of these brands offers services in different fields of action, such as Document Services Management, Production Printing, Office Solutions and IT Services, which, when complemented, provide a great share of solutions, both analogic, with several types of hardware, and digital, with specialized softwares. In this way, they comprise solution for every phase of the cycle of documentation.

A leader in Document Management and Business Solutions, Ricoh operates through an international network, and is represented in over 90 countries. The group is annually investing 6% of their revenues into research and development, focusing on technologies that support for future working models, in order to facilitate the access and sharing of information. Thus, Ricoh is able to provide technology and services which will increase productivity and profitability, making businesses more fluid.

When it comes to printing, Ricoh has solutions that are flexible, ergonomic and of simple application, thus ensuring the best performance and new standards of productivity, efficiency and quality. The highly energetically efficient equipment, and the brand's own software both help in the reduction of the electricity consumption, toner and paper usage, thus contributing for the reduction of the daily expenses.

Ricoh Pro VC60000

The digital printer Ricoh Pro VC60000 is a milestone of the brand in high speed inkjet technology and, it is considered the next generation of digital printing. This model has come to set a benchmark for quality, efficiency and versatility, enabling commercial printers a more rapid shift from the offset to the digital printing system. It also features the Ricoh's Dynamic Printhead Positioning technology, which ensures a tight colour registration, resulting in a printing quality that can be compared to offset technique.

The VC60000 reduces the make ready time, speeds up turnaround, maximises operational efficiency and allows greater cost control. The model is able to produce up to 40 million impressions, per month, at optimum quality, and over 120 000 A4 per hour.

The new print head technology assures high-density printing production, with the capacity to print between 50 meters per minute at 1200x1200 dpi (dots per inch), and 150 meters per minute at 600x600 dpi, using new rich and durable pigment inks, with air dryers that speed up time of production for direct mail, books and postcards, marketing materials and personalised documents.  With quality and perfection in mind, it was introduced the dynamic drop size pixel technology can print droplets as small as 2 pl (picoliter).

This printer also offers a broad range of media support with uncoated, coated offset treated and recycled papers, of thickness ranging from 40 to 250 gr, at widths that can go from 165 up to 520 mm.

Besides all of these features, the system has furthermore a functional modular design, which allows for a variety of configuration options, so as to better adapt to the dedicated space. This is definitely the ideal investment for any printer company that seeks the state-of-the-art in digital printing.
