The growing community of seagoers couldn't be happier. Until 2020 they will witness an increase in 76.818 berths onboard the twenty six new ships so far announced by major cruise lines and new players. Today we give you a taste of the best to come until the end of next year.

Viking Ocean Cruises

This is the new brand of Viking Cruises, a well know company for it's luxury river cruises in Europe, Russia, Egypt, China, and Southeast Asia.. The new company will start operations in April with the launch of Viking Star, the first of three 930 passenger ships.

Viking Star will take on her first guests on April 11. She will then set sail from Istanbul, making her way through the Mediterranean and into the Atlantic on her way to be officially christened in the homeland of the Vikings. On May 17 in Bergen, Norway, guests onboard will be treated to a celebration that will be seen throughout the world. One of the most important days of the year in Norway – Norwegian Constitution Day – dignitaries from around the country and thousands of Bergen residents will gather along the waterfront to welcome Viking Star to port and to share in the festivities. Bergen Mayor Trude Drevland will serve as godmother to Viking Star and will officially "name" the ship during its christening ceremony.

The sophisticated state-of-the-art Viking Star will host 930 guests on itineraries in Scandinavia and the Baltic; the Western and Eastern Mediterranean; and the British Isles.

The all-veranda ship was designed by experienced team, and built at Fincanteri's Marghera Shipyard, in Italy, birthplace of some of the most innovative and luxurious cruise vessels in the world. The Star boosts a choice of restaurants with a variety of fine dining options and more al fresco dining than any ship at sea; a spa, two pools (including the unique infinity pool), and much more..

Onboard areas include several fine dining restaurants; an intimate Piano Bar; dramatic three-story atrium; a thoughtfully curated library; a sundeck including the infinity pool as well as a main pool with retractable dome; a Nordic-inspired spa; gym and yoga area; an onboard boutiques and complimentary laundry service. All thought to impress the passenger.

Two more ships, Viking Sky and Viking Sea will be lauched in 2016.

Royal Caribbean International

In the last years RCI has delivered some of the most innovative and luxurious cruise ships in the world.

Still unnamed, but already under construction, we can be sure that the third Oasis Class will set sail in 2016 joining RCI fleet around the globe along with the second Quantum ship: "Ovation of the Seas".

Since the introduction of "Oasis of the Seas", the behemoth ship that defied naval engineering, Royal Caribbean has given us another vessel class. A tecnhology wonder know as "Quantum of the Seas".

Unprecedented levels of technology amp up the vacation experience onboard "Quantum of the Seas" which allows for the utmost in simplicity, efficiency and customization. Guests can be online and connected 24/7 should they choose to be, thanks to superfast wireless speeds that match broadband connections onshore, while RFID luggage tags provide the option of tracking luggage in real time through smartphones, and a downloadable app, Royal iQ, empowers guests to manage every detail of their vacation during the cruise. Not to mention robots! Technology also enables a number of surprise-and-delight elements on Quantum, including a brand new venue, Bionic Bar powered by Makr Shakr that is set to make waves with robots at center stage.

As for Oasis Class, the biggest cruise ships ever built, which took the cruise industry by storm with their introduction in 2009 and 2010, respectively, featuring a revolutionary design with a split superstructure and the cruise line's neighborhood concept of seven distinct themed areas.  At 225.282 gross tons and spanning 16 decks with 2,700 staterooms, the Oasis class ships also introduced extraordinary "firsts" at sea such as an 82 foot-long zip line, a handcrafted carousel, the Rising Tide elevating bar, the AquaTheater high-diving performance venue, and the Central Park with more than 12.000 live trees and plants.  The Oasis class also offers amenities that can only be found on Royal Caribbean, such as twin FlowRider surf simulators, cantilevered whirlpools, an ice-skating rink, the H2O Zone kids aquapark, and the Royal Promenade, an interior boulevard that stretches nearly the length of the ship and flanked by restaurants, lounges and boutiques, among many others.

Ponant

Formerly known as Compagnie du Ponant, the renowned french cruise line is set to keep up to the level of luxury and pampering only their yachts can give the guests.

The 220 passenger, 11.000 tons ships sail troughout the globe, calling at some of the best and most forgotten ports on Earth.

Sailing under the French flag, this magnificent yacht of only 122 staterooms and Suites, with balconies, will join our fleet in April 2015. The enchanting ship's contemporary decor is inspired by the ship's destinations and the blue light of the Vega star in the Lyra constellation. The result is a subtle variation around a palette of blues, ranging from the  luminous delicate grey-blue of the Polar ice to splashes of the vivid turquoise blue found in  Mediterranean coves

A refined ambiance is enhanced by the quality of the workmanship and materials: white Corian counters in the lobby contrast with the warmth of leather to recall a boat's hull, while the central sculpture of enamelled pieces takes its inspiration from the sea. In the loungebar, the carpet picks up a tennis stripe theme symbolising a certain idea of cruising, one synonymous with French elegance and a chic seaside spirit.

Le Lyrial will join the other 3 Bóreal Class ships, that includes Le Bóreal, L'Austral and Le Soleal.

Regent Seven Seas

This company is known for it's high-end luxury ships that already granted Regent Seven Seas with several awards including the Virtuoso Awards for "Best of Luxury" in 2012 and 2013, and "NACTA" Luxury Cruise Line of the Year" in 2014.

Following on the company's tradition, the new Seven Seas Explorer, is set to sail in the Summer of 2016, will be spaciously intimate, breathlessly elegant and perfectly staffed to offer Regent Seven Seas Cruises' special brand of all-inclusive luxury. Next year will herald not only the launch of the most luxurious ship to sail the seven seas, but also the moment when you can experience the new standard in elegance and sophistication. Journey to the world's most beautiful places in spacious designer suites, indulge in a decadent treatment at the world renowned Canyon Ranch SpaClub®, enjoy a musical performance in a plush lounge, and delight in extensive gourmet dining throughout the day and night.

Once again Regent Seven Seas will present a all-suite, all-balcony ship, in line with the other vessels on the fleet, Mariner, Voyager and Navigator

Seabourne

Like a phoenix, Seabourne has reinvented itself by replacing the aging yachts with modern state-of-the-art cruise ships, designed for about 400 passengers. In 2016 the company will debeut it's largest ship to date, the Seabourne Encore, who will carry 600 passengers to the world's most incredible ports of call.

With one more deck than her sister ships, the Encore will have more cabins, but also bigger public areas, providig relax and space for everyone. Also, with almost one crew member per passenger, you can count on luxury treatment and indulgence troughout your cruises with Seabourne.

As an all-suite, all-balcony ship the Explorer has walk-in closets on every cabin, some of the largest balconies at sea and the Seabourne branded Owner's Suites, with their own terrace facing the bow of the ship.

Onboeard you can have a delicious meal on one of the two available restaurants, spend a day of pampering and fine treatment at the on board spa, or simply sit down on your chair enjoying a sail-out after going ashore for great shopping and shightseeing.
