MOTO ZEN STONE
"'Smartphones' are powerful pieces of technology that may reveal addictive tendencies between users. 'Moto Zen', namely the model 'Stone', was created as a response to this side effect."
This simplified function's phone was developed by Colombian designer Miguel Harry, in complete independence from Motorola.
Equipped with only two features, the 'smartphone' is able to make calls and take pictures, in order to ensure that the user does not waste unnecessary amounts of time lost in menus and functions. When the device is not to be used for connectivity or photo, organic design in form of stone is designed to make the user feel some form of relaxation, given your simplicity, on its daily use.
The concept of 'Zen' was born of the design work of Michael Harry, and identifies the need for modern solutions for consumers obsessed with technology, but who are slowly wasting time with unnecessary functions into their devices. It is precisely to stop this "waste" of time that the creator of the template features this design, organic style, geared to combat and alleviate stress by removing your subconscious concerns during use, trying to minimize these feelings.
Electing as the most important functions of a 'smartphone', communications and the use of the camera and filming – in two simple, but very well designed interactions – the 'Zen-Stone' aims to simplify the life of use to potential interested in the device. The model has two sides, one for each function. While on 'idle' mode, an interface disappears to make room for a drawing that represents a stone.
For this model presented in 2017, the designer used materials such as TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), used in most structures of 'smartphones' present on the market, as well as glass, and aluminium. In electronics, as its name implies, is used as the base model Moto from Motorola, although the brand does not consider, first of all, recognition as a product itself and is still defined as a 'concept model'.
