"Quality of life begins in the home" is the moto of Baufritz, a multi-award winning pioneer in timber house construction, founded in 1896, and it. Superior design, sustainable materials, free from hazardous substances, and the use of renewable sources of energy come together to create a home as genuinely individual as you – and that is efficient, affordable, and beautiful – the perfect living environment.

Each home is built with only natural, pollutant free wood. The timber is not treated with hazardous chemicals such as toxic adhesives, waxes or lacquers and this has a direct impact on air quality and wellbeing.

As it is known, the choice of insulation material very much determines the air quality in a building. Baufritz has, over the last fifteen years, developed its own patented insulation material, made from wood shavings treated with only natural whey and soda to make them fire, fungus and pesticide resistant. To use only natural materials and avoiding the artificial fibres, ensures that in a Baufritz house your every breath is one of fresh, good air.

Good ventilation is also essential. The natural walls are able to breathe and thus extract condensation quicker than it is created. Maintaining the right moisture levels guarantees the right air quality inside the house and since dust mites cannot survive below 55% humidity, it is beneficial for people who are allergic to dust.

Ecological Savings

Imagine a home with less than one sixth of the energy consumption of the average house that cuts waste, saves you money and protects the environment. A house with this energy efficiency as a standard, providing you with immunity to fluctuating fossil fuel prices, whilst ensuring you do more than your bit for our planet. This is one of the concerns of Baufritz, whose philosophy lies precisely in safeguarding the World environmentally.

By using only sustainable building materials, they install the best thermally efficient windows with an energy efficient construction process, Baufritz homes have earned the accolade "Carbon Positive". During their manufacture, transportation, and construction, more CO2 is locked away than it is emitted. This ecological process also includes the component design, the manufacturing process, packaging and transportation, waste management and site operations.

However, the ecological process doesn't end there. Throughout its lifespan, your home will continue to run in an energy efficient manner and to be environmentally friendly. The houses come from nature and can be returned to it, perfectly in tune to the natural cycle and the need now and in the future for ever greater sustainability.

Living Innovation

Baufritz believes a house should have a "brain" as well as a "heart", and this is why the company invests a considerable amount of time and money into research and development, resulting in constant innovation. Investing in innovation ensures that the company can anticipate the future needs, whether in the realms of labour saving devices, by developing technologies to safeguard your health, energy efficiency or simply to guarantee absolute luxury.

The bus system is a networking system which allows you to control many features in your home, internally and remotely, via internet and voice control. The system is designed to each personal requirement, but can encompass access, security, lighting, solar shading, electrical devices, household appliances, air quality and temperature.

The cabriolet roof is an example of the Baufritz's absolute and unique innovation. Imagine turning the roof top of your home into a roof terrace or garden at the touch of a button. If the weather changes, it closes automatically via wind and rain sensors.

The Audio Tec wall from Baufritz, based on the Stradivarius violin sounding board, optimises the sound and acoustic quality of your home to ensure the enjoyment of your sound and entertainment systems. Designed to your personal requirements, in all rooms of your house you will be able to watch digital TV, make phone calls, surf the web or listen to the radio.
