CONTROL YOUR SLEEP

It is pure common sense that a good and restful sleep is fundamental for the wellbeing of both mind and body. Sleep monitoring is thus fundamental to prevent negative disruptions.

<

After a few years on the market, sleep monitors have proven to do a good job of measuring how much we sleep. But they haven't been good at telling us what those measurements mean or how to improve our sleep quality.

Somno Health's EverSleep promises that it will not only monitor your sleep patterns but will detect conditions such as snoring, apnea and insomnia. The Colorado-based company, in the United States, is launching a comprehensive sleep tracker.

The company explains its EverSleep Personal Sleep Tracker uses the same oxygen-monitoring technology health care professionals use. EverSleep also provides personalized coaching to help solve sleep problems.

Users will be able to download a simple analysis engine app that details nightly sleep measurements and explains the causes of any abnormalities like snoring, insomnia, breathing disturbances (that can be caused by sleep apnea), pulse rate, micro-motions and continuous blood oxygen levels. The app may ask if you have allergies that may have caused breathing interruptions that led to the insomnia.

Sleep labs often require special referrals, lots of wires and results that have to be interpreted by a sleep specialist. Normally, these types of tests, can run in the hundreds of dollars and they're often only used for a limited time period.

EverSleep uses a non-intrusive technique that consists of a wire with a sensor that clips onto your finger tip as well as a band that wraps around your wrist. Inside, it has four different sensors that can track over 20 aspects of sleep.

If you can bear wearing it throughout the night, you will be rewarded with actionable tips on how to improve your sleep.

The company hasn't announced its price yet, but the quality of our sleep will surely appreciate any effort.
