BAD VIBES, GOOD VIBES

Sure! Riding a bicycle instead of a car and even a public transport, is also a good attitude for your personal and the common health. Just make sure you do it right

By JORGE MATIAS

So, the question imposes: are you sure you are riding your bike in total awareness and healthy conditions? You could be thinking so, and it might end up not being so.

A group of English scientists just ended a research about "the impact of vibrations on comfort and bodily stress while cycling". And the results may be, someway, disturbing. We'll share with you a lit bit of the study's history.

While riding her bike, every day, to work at the University of the West of England, one of the researchers realized it caused her an intense and permanent headache.

A later survey about this effect, has shown that these disturbances are not so uncommon as one would expect. The reports showed frequent problems of pain in the arms, knees, neck and back, mainly caused by the position of the rider and the road conditions.

Researchers found out that after almost one hour of cycling, the rider is exposed to a vibration comparable to an agriculture tractor operator after half a day of field work.

Iurii Kopytsia, founder of Rinsten Spring, suffered the same effects and, therefore, he decided to work over it: "to do this, I set up a team of engineers and mechanics and the work began. The team was headed by stress engineer from Antonov aircraft (…) after months of hard work, multiple prototypes and tests, we came up with a device consisting of only five parts - the Rinsten Spring. Our shock absorber is versatile and can be mounted on all types of bicycles, it allows to adjust rigidness on your bike ride in just one minute, it works in three directions, easily adjustable and doesn't require any additional accessories".

The Rinsten Spring is suitable for everyone weighing up to 220 kg, works perfectly on any road and surfaces (from tarmac to hill path, pave stone or gravel), plus it's sold with a lifetime warranty.
