Accessible technology

Xiaomi was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Lei Jun, who believes that high-quality technology doesn't need to cost a fortune.

At Xiaomi, smart people were brought together from Google, Kingsoft, Microsoft, Motorola, Yahoo, and other Internet and tech companies from around the world to bring that vision to life, to create remarkable hardware, software, and Internet services for – and with the help of – the Mi fans. The brand incorporates their feedback into the product range, which currently includes Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi Pad, Mi Box, Mi TV, Redmi 2, Redmi Note 4G, Mi Power Bank and other accessories. Xiaomi sells directly to customers to keep the prices competitive. And with more than 180 million handsets sold in China since 2012 and products launched in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, India and Indonesia, the brand is ready to go global.

Mi Note

Xiaomi pushed the boundaries of design and technology to create a smartphone that embodies both style and substance. Mi Note houses some of the most powerful components in an ultra-thin 6.95mm body. Premium glass panels taper off to meet aluminum at the sides for an excellent grip.

With curved glass panels wrapped around an aluminum frame, Mi Note was shaped to fit perfectly in your hand. The unique texture of glass and aluminum, tapered at the sides, provides great usability for any application.

The 2.5D front and 3D back curved glass panels, crafted from Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, Mi Note's front and back panels are manufactured at Biel and Lens Technology's world-class facilities. The back 3D panel goes through a meticulous six-step polishing, four-step preheating, and three-step heat press shaping process at temperatures above 700°C to create its curved ergonomic shape. Gentle rounded edges are added to the 2.5D front panel, extending the smoothness from back to front.

Nano-textured aluminum, just 4.1mm thick, made using nano-molding technology,
Mi Note's finely textured aluminum bezel is both lightweight and tough. Measuring just 4.1 mm across, it's a thinness you'll notice the moment you pick up Mi Note.

Despite its 6.95 mm thickness and large 5.7" display, Mi Note has an outstanding battery life thanks to the 3000mAh, 4.4V high-voltage battery design.

Xiaomi challenged themselves to design a camera that sits flush against the smooth back glass panel and succeeded. This patented technology allows the 13MP camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) to integrate seamlessly into the ultrathin body with no protrusions.
