If you have the idea that a stupidly expensive watch is an exceptional, unique and exclusive watch, put it aside. The good watch is the one that makes you feel good in your own skin, keeps up with you at all times, more or less formal and the one which emphasizes by its simplicity and refinement.
All good ideas and solutions start up as a problem. In this case, the problem we all face once in a lifetime is the dilemma between spending a fortune (or even the all fortune) buying a known brand wrist watch which will be hidden in the shirt sleeve, or acquiring one piece which will makes feel good without the fear of being mugged in the street.
Nowadays, the watch industry is saturated with brands that invest heavily in advertising to pass an image of luxury and quality and, thus, be able to raise the prices of their products artificially.
The Australian brand Vodrich was founded in Sydney with the main purpose of creating high quality wrist watches, without shooting a hole in the bank account.
For this, the brand decided to overcome the traditional processes and opted for a more personalized manufacture, following construction requirements and standards proposed by its customers, thus creating pieces tuned right down to the last detail, with reasonable costs, which keep all the style and quality of other millionaire watches.
And, aware of this, also created a line of bracelets for men, aiming to complete the image of the modern man, successful and considerate in his choices.
Here are some of the highlights of the brand, which divides their proposals in four collections: Iconic, Skeleton, Classic and Aviator.
Carefully designed, and with a timeless style, the Iconic collections shows, at the same time, a minimal though classic style. The 40mm box, in brushed silver, along with the navy blue display, bears a quartz, Miyota movement. It is 8 milimeter thick, hardened mineral crystal glass (scratch resistant), weights 50 grams and is water resistant until 3 atmospheres (ATM). It is equipped with a steel bracelet, with adjustable clasp and it's price is close to 80 euros.
This collection carries two classic models (Gatsby and Sterling) and another more bold, the Excalibur. The classic models are built by a 40 x 10 mm box, using the same hardened crystal glass, one gold or silver engraved display and a mechanical self-wind movement. They weight about 65 grams and all are water resistant until 3 ATM. Prices vary between 70 (Gatsby and Sterling models), and eighty euros for the Excalibur. This model, shows its main differences as to thickness (15 mm) and weight, which is set at 135 grams. All these models come with a Vodrich genuine leather band.
This is the bigger collection, twelve models, all with a classic design suitable for any occasion or event. Take the Royce model as an example. It is a wrist watch which shows the maximum sophistication, with a minimal design. The case is built in rose gold and the navy blue display shows off a second counter, also gold embroidery. It is 7mm thick and 39mm diameter, which grant it a 48 gram weight. Also bearing a Japanese Miyota quartz mechanism, comes equipped with a genuine leather Vodrich bracelet. As in other models, the glass is hardened crystal and it is water resistant until 3 ATM. As for this collection, prices vary between 26 and 85 euros.
It is the active man watch. The collection is composed with four models: Explorer, Atlas and two versions of the Monaco model (Red and Gold). Atlas and Explorer models, mounting quartz Miyota mechanisms while Monaco are equipped with the mechanical self-wind movement. The Explorer model display comes in matte black, with a blue toned hardened crystal glass, giving it a "space look". It has a 44 x 12 mm case and weights 55 grams. The Monaco models weight 65 grams, in 42 x 10 mm cases, and its display marks the date and a second time zone. The Atlas model is truly different. The all mechanism, inserted in a 42 x 8 mm case, weights only 50 grams, and the display doesn't show big pointers, as the previous models. Instead, it shows two time displays, for home time zone and site time, placed in parallel, over a white background. The prices for this collection vary between 28 euros (Atlas model) and 75 euros (Explorer
