A small workshop destined to grow

In 1965 Giorgio and Gilberto Martini started producing solid wood furniture in a small carpentry workshop in the lower regions of the province of Verona: an area with a long tradition of furniture-making. Right from the start, the firm gained a reputation for its high-quality materials and expert workmanship.

<

In 1995 the company opens up to the world. The passion for furniture and interest in the highest quality were inherited by the daughters of the company's founders. The entry of the second generation into the business led to a giant step forward: Martini began to export their furniture around the world, and the company's outlook became increasingly international.

Today, while remaining true to the tailor-made style of its work, Martini Mobili widened its focus and sphere of operations to include the field of residential contracts. This move forward made the company even more flexible, and able to satisfy every furnishing requirement.

Furnishing

The first step involves great care and precision. Using cutting-edge measuring instruments, the state-of-the-art of the property is transferred onto paper with meticulous accuracy. During this phase, the designer familiarizes himself with the space to be furnished, using his experience and imagination to configure the various rooms and their functions in an appropriate and practical manner. This first step is one of the most sensitive, as it can influence the outcome of the entire process.

Meeting with the client comes next and is known as the "preparatory stage". It is the time when the designer interviews the client very carefully and precisely, to gather as much information as possible about his life-style and needs. This information is essential in order to optimize the arrangement, function and use of the furnishings, and so create a truly customized solution.

The designer then combines all the information gathered to produce a series of sketches and outlines, watercolors and perspective drawings, accompanying these with charts of different colors and materials. The client can then decide whether or not this is the right course to follow, or whether certain modifications need to be made.

Following the initial planning stage, the time comes to decide upon the exact design for the interior of the house. With the use of computerized tools, the designer can now produce a draft project. Then, the final design acts as a golden thread uniting all the different skills involved in the subsequent activities of planning and assembly, enabling every party to have a precise and comprehensive vision of the project from a technical point of view.

Martini Mobili also provides services that are associated with the post-furniture process including transport, where the company makes sure all the products arrive at their destination in perfect condition, mounting and installation, facilitated as a result of the pre-assembly processes: all the individual elements carry a unique identification number, avoiding a needless loss of time when the personnel are at work in the client's home. Finally, the post-sales service for which the brand keeps a record bank which includes all the details of every single design project. Even many years after installation, therefore, they are able to provide a very prompt replacement or repair service.

Choice of materials

Martini ensures the high standard of all its products by selecting the raw materials it uses on the basis of both quality and technical suitability. Wood is carefully chosen to ensure the colors and grain match perfectly in every case, and all planking comes from sustainably managed forests.

Processing

The blockboard and plywood panels are thoroughly tested to guarantee optimal strength and solidity, and are of very superior quality compared to normal chipboard paneling. The panels are all veneered in the company's workshops, using non-toxic adhesives and carefully ensuring a uniform appearance for every part of the overall design.

Finishes

The finishing process consists of carefully covering the wood and veneered panels with a thin coating of varnish. Wood is a living material and water can seep into the fibers and cause warping or swelling if suitable protection is not applied. The finishing process also gives the wood added color and luster, and ensures that all the wooden parts are identical in tone.
